PREMIERE

14 January 2016 at Comedia Theatre, Madrid.

SYNOPSIS

Cervantine is Ron Lalá’s latest approach to the creative world of the greatest author in the Spanish language. An assortment of texts, verses, versions and diversions from the work of one of the indisputable geniuses of universal literature.
A fiesta of brief pieces that brings together on stage the “ronlalesque” adaptations of some
exemplary novels and entremeses, along with fragments of lesser known pieces such as The Trials of Persiles and Sigismunda, Galatea and Journey to Parnassus. A tribute to and an encounter with the lucid, playful, hilarious and profoundly human art of the
author of Don Quixote… among other masterpieces that must urgently be rediscovered.
A celebration of the best Cervantes, eternal and familiar, with a flavour of the unmistakable Ron Lalá touch.
After the resounding international success of Somewhere in Quixote, the company is taking another step in its exploration of the Cervantine literary world, using the tools of its stage language: humor, poetry, manic rhythm, live music… An open, audacious dialogue that will infect spectators with the intelligent, sensitive, hearty laugh of Miguel de Cervantes.
